History
- Uptown Branch opened June 5, 1993.
- The branch’s architectural style is a tribute to Frank Lloyd Wright and the Prairie School of Architecture.
- In 1998, the branch’s "Not So Secret" garden won Mayor Richard M. Daley’s landscape awards contest for best new garden; in 1999 it won in the public institutions garden category.
