In 1992, Esther Parada, an artist and professor at University of Illinois at Chicago, created an exhibit entitled, “Who Dis/Covers, Who Dis/Colors?” The exhibit investigated the struggle of African Americans for representation of Jean Baptiste Point DuSable at the 1933 Century of Progress international exposition in Chicago.
