John Reich served as artistic director of the Goodman Theatre and its Theatre School from 1957 to 1972 and was instrumental in the establishment of the theater’s professional acting company. Afterwards, he worked as a director and teacher in a guest capacity at various institutions until shortly before his death in 1988.
