Milton Davis co-founded South Shore Bank, later renamed ShoreBank. It was the first bank holding company to combine commercial banking, real estate development, nonprofit loan funds and international advisory services aimed at community development. Davis was also an active Civil Rights activist and served as President of the Congress of Racial Equality, Chicago Chapter. The collection consists of correspondence, event programs, newspaper clippings, photographs, audiovisual materials and memorabilia.
