Author, professor and researcher A. K. Sandoval-Strausz, Director of Latina/o Studies at Penn State University, appeared as part of the 2020 One Book, One Chicago season, exploring the theme "Beyond Borders."
Sandoval-Strausz discussed his new book, Barrio America, which describes how migrants and immigrants helped bring urban America back from the brink of abandonment by repopulating city neighborhoods at a time when most people were still leaving.
