Chicago author Dominic Pacyga appeared as part of the 2020 One Book, One Chicago season, exploring the theme "Beyond Borders."
Dominic A. Pacyga is professor emeritus of history in the Department of Humanities, Histor, and Social Sciences at Columbia College Chicago. An award-winning historian, his books include Polish Immigrants and Industrial Chicago; Chicago; and Slaughterhouse. In his latest book, American Warsaw, Pacyga chronicles more than a century of immigration, and later emigration back to Poland, showing how the community has continually redefined what it means to be Polish in Chicago.
