Marjorie Stewart Joyner
Joyner founded several professional beautician organizations and planned trips to Haiti in 1952, Western Europe in 1954 and 1956, and West Africa in the early 1960s for them. The trips helped African American beauticians to learn the latest methods and fashions in beauty culture, and also succeeding in presenting a respectable, international example of African American womanhood.
