Bonjour my friends! I recently returned home from a trip to Montreal, Canada. From the moment I planned this trip, everyone who has been to Montreal asked me, "Do you speak French?" and I'd answer truthfully, "No" and I was told I better bone up on my French. I listened to everyone's warnings and found some fantastic resources at the library for language learning, particularly French.
Collins Easy Learning French: This audiobook CD was a huge help in learning the basics of French, especially all the directional and basic words and phrases a tourist would need to know.
Ultimate French: This book and audiobook CD combo was a great way to improve my basic sentences and phrases of French. It's filled with particularly useful phrases that a tourist needs to know—like conversing with waitstaff at a restaurant or dealing with French-speaking store clerks—which was mostly the type of French I needed to know for my trip to Montreal.
The best part about these materials and many of the language-learning materials at CPL is that they are audiobooks, which are especially great for busy people on the go. I like to have them play in my car or even play them while I am doing housework like folding clothes or washing dishes.
Challenge yourself to try a new language and come check out all the great language-learning materials that CPL has—not just for French but for dozens of other languages as well!
