School is done, which means it's time for the Summer Learning Challenge! Celebrate the Earth, the environment and just plain fun this summer at home and your local library.
Kick off your Earth exploration with a good book. Here’s what we caught kids reading at a few of our libraries across the city.
We spotted some little ones, and their parents, at Portage-Cragin Branch reading about the outdoors in Walk and See ABC and Ciao, Baby!.
At Gage Park Branch, we caught some bigger kids reading The Junkyard Bot and the Zoey Sassafras series, including Merhorses and Bubbles and The Pod and the Bog.
Finally, kids of all ages were hanging out at Thomas Hughes Children's Library reading graphic novels, including Lunch Witch, and watching the baby trout grow while enjoying the fishy tales Jangles and Fish Girl.
Our summer is off to a great start! What are you planning to read this summer? We’d love to hear!
