Urbanologist and Chicago history expert Max Grinnell presented Hello Chicago! as part of the 2020 One Book, One Chicago season. Learn from first hand narratives from those folks who passed through in the 19th and early 20th century, such as Rudyard Kipling, Frederick Douglass, and Oscar Wilde as well as lesser known voices, such as Lucy Bird, Giuseppe Giacosa, and Mary Borden. Along the way, we’ll also draw some parallels between what they observed and today’s city.
