Even if you're a budding activist or future politician, it can be overwhelming to talk about politics all the time. Why not take a break from the dinner table debate and enjoy a good belly laugh with some political satire for dessert?
In 2036, politics are dictated by reality television stardom and viral video clips. But it's still a huge surprise when Beth Ross, a 19-year-old fast food worker better known as "Corndog Girl," is suddenly elected President of the United States via Twitter and decides to fill her cabinet with the smartest people she can find. Fun fact: Prez is a reboot of a short-lived comic from the 1970s called Prez: First Teen President and Beth's Vice President, Preston Rickard, was its original main character.
Prez is available in other formats.
Five hundred years in the future, U.S. Army librarian Joe Bauers awakens from a long-forgotten suspended animation experiment to discover that the entire country is totally stupid. No, really. "Average Joe" is now the smartest person alive, but that doesn't mean he'll be able to fix all the problems of America's Idiocracy: mountains of garbage, crops watered with sports drinks and a president whose sole qualification is his career as a professional wrestler. This crude comedy flick was written and directed by Mike Judge, co-creator of HBO's popular television show Silicon Valley.
