Must-Read Manga Before April’s Anime Drops!

Anime fans, get ready! April is shaping up to be an exciting month with big anime comebacks and new releases. From One Piece to Fire Force, there's a lot to look forward to—and we’re here to help you get ahead of the game. While there’s plenty of anime to get excited about, there are also two manga/graphic novels I’m personally hoping will make the leap to a series in the upcoming year. So, before the spoilers hit, be sure to check out these awesome reads!

If you’ve been waiting for the Egghead Arc to resume, the wait is almost over! One Piece returns on April 6, 2025, after a six-month hiatus, and you’ll want to be prepared. To catch up, we recommend reading One Piece Volumes 106 through 108. These volumes will bring you up to speed with the latest events and set the stage for the epic adventures ahead!

Get ready for more fire-fighting action in Fire Force Season 3 Part 1! This season continues the intense battles and explosive action we’ve come to love. If you’re looking to dive deeper into the story before the season drops, start with the Fire Force books 7-12, which covers volumes 21 through 34. These omnibus volumes give you everything you need to know about Shinra, the Fire Force, and their fight to stop spontaneous human combustion!

If you’re a fan of My Hero Academia, you won’t want to miss the Vigilantes spin-off anime. It’s set to hit screens on April 7, 2025, and it dives deep into the world of vigilantes—those heroes who don’t play by the rules. To get the full backstory, start reading My Hero Academia: Vigilantes, Volume 1. This manga introduces new characters and explores a darker side of the MHA universe.

Fans of fantasy and adventure will be excited for the The Beginning After the End anime, coming soon. This new series follows King Grey, who’s reincarnated in a new world full of magic and powerful beings. Before you jump into the anime, make sure to read The Beginning After the End. It’s the perfect way to get a feel for the world and its complex characters before the anime hits the screen!

The Baker and the Bard is a delightful blend of magic, friendship, and adventure. Juniper and Hadley’s quest to gather magical mushrooms takes them deep into mysterious woods, where they uncover secrets and face challenges that will test their bond. With its whimsical charm, colorful characters, and exciting journey, this story has all the makings of a fantastic anime that would keep you hooked from start to finish!

From the creator of Scott Pilgrim, Snotgirl takes you into the chaotic world of social media, fashion, and messy personal drama. With the next book dropping in July (finally!), it’s been a long wait, but the anticipation makes it even more exciting. Just like the Scott Pilgrim show, Snotgirl has that perfect blend of sharp humor, wild twists, and vibrant style — which would translate so well to an addicting, binge-worthy show!

Get ready for an insane April of anime, let us know which series you're hyped for, and check out the library's manga to stay ahead of the game!
