Paddington, beloved star of the classic British children's book series, makes his feature film debut in Paddington. The film promises to capture the delightfully madcap bear's London hijinks with his adoptive family, the Browns.
Paddington's story began when a BBC cameraman, Michael Bond, published A Bear Called Paddington in 1958, inspired by a stuffed bear he bought for his wife and named for a nearby London train station. Paddington traveled to American in 1960, and since then kids worldwide have cuddled up to read the many books about this floppy hat, duffle coat and Wellington boots wearing bear.
He's such an iconic character that a 60-foot tall balloon version of Paddington floated in this year's Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. This bear has traveled a long way from his native Peru! He was even named Britain's best animated character of all time in 2012.
So, make yourself a marmalade sandwich, Paddington's favorite snack, and get ready for a crazy ride through the streets of London on one of Paddington's many adventures including Paddington at the Beach, Paddington Helps Out, Love From Paddington and many more.
And proving that Paddington is a modern, tech-saavy guy, you can check out A Bear Called Paddington on eBook and on downloadable videos and DVDs. These timeless stories are sure to capture the hearts of many future generations.
