March 14 seems like a regular day, but it's extra special. 3.14 is a special day because it's pi day! One of the most important numbers in the world is pi, which can be written 3.14159.
Pi is the number you get when you divide a circle's circumference (the measurement around the circle) by its diameter (the measurement across the circle). And it's the same for every circle! You can use pi to calculate lots of things that have to do with circles. Want to know how many pieces of pepperoni will fit on your pizza? You can use pi and the measurement of the pizza and pepperoni to figure it out.
