Once upon a time, there was a story about a princess.
Does this story sound familiar to you? It's the beginning of a familiar fairy tale, one you've been told over and over again since you were little. But this time, there is something just a little bit different. Add a new twist and suddenly everything old is new again. I love reading twisted fairy tales because you get to see a whole new side of these characters you never knew was there.
What if Rapunzel could free herself from her tower? Or Baba Yaga stopped eating children?
Rapunzel is a very curious princess, who disobeys rules and gets herself locked into a tower. Rapunzel's Revenge is that she finds a way to take care of herself, get out of the tree and go on adventures with Jack to find her real mother (you might know him from stories about the Beanstalk).
Baba Yaga is known for eating children, so most people tend to avoid her. But when Masha sees a newspaper ad looking for Baba Yaga's Assistant, she goes to Baba Yaga's house to take the job. It's not what she expected, but working for a witch rarely is!
Names are your destiny and Rump is cursed with one that often leaves him the butt of the joke. Fortunately, or unfortunately, Rump isn't his full name. He's on a quest to find the rest of it in a story that will make you laugh, and introduce you to characters from a few other fairy tales.
What are your favorite twisted fairy tales?
