November 19 marks the 150th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg Address.
Lincoln had been invited to deliver a brief statement at a dedication ceremony for the Soldiers' National Cemetery at Gettysburg. The speech was brief and earned little attention at the time; it is now considered one of Lincoln's greatest speeches.
The Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum is offering a week's worth of events to commemorate the address.
Here at CPL, we're featuring an exhibit, The Gettyburg Address: A Graphic Adaptation, at the Harold Washington Library Center.
