Teens come shape Chicago’s gaming scene by participating on the Chicago Teen Gamer's Guild and get paid to do it! When we say gaming, we mean all kinds of games: videogames, board games, RPG, trivia and more. If you’re interested in participating (and you’re a Chicago teen between the ages of 13-18) apply by October 1st by filling out this survey!
So how’s it work? We’ll meet twice a week from October 19 through June 2022, one day in person and one day virtually. During these meetings, you’ll work with other teens to plan a gaming convention that will happen in June 2022 at Chicago Public Library. Part of that will also include planning lead up gaming programs at various Chicago Public Library branches to practice running events and develop a gaming community.
The in person meetings will occur every Tuesday from 5-7pm at Harold Washington Library Center (400 S. State St). The virtual meetings will occur over Discord from 5-6pm. In addition, there will be around 2 hours of at-home work for you to complete on your own time. You’ll be paid $10.50 per hour, including the two hours of asynchronous at-home work, plus you’ll receive pre-paid Ventra cards to help with transportation to and from the in-person meetings.
So if that interests you, apply to participate by October 1st! If you have any questions, you can email tbayless@chipublib.org and/or jshannin@chipublib.org.
