Uptown Branch hosts a Hispanic Heritage Month art exhibit featuring the work of local artist Cathy Quintero.
Quintero's exhibit Las Américas will be on display from September 15 through October 15.
Artist Statement
Cathy Quintero is an Ecuadorian-American teacher and mixed media artist. As an ode to artisans and the craft of weaving, ethically sourced textiles are the focal point of her digital photography. Las Américas features handwoven fabrics from Ecuador, Mexico and Guatemala. Cathy’s work explores ways of using textiles as a common language between cultures.
