Albany Park Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit throughout May featuring art from the collection of artist Chong-Guyo Kim.
The exhibit features Zodiac pictures, Korean traditional flags and works of art from the Lee Dynasty.
Chong-Guyo Kim is a drama director and artist who was born in Korea. He has worked as a director and stage designer in Korea from 1952 to 1986, until he immigrated to Chicago. In 1987, Kim and his colleagues founded the Korean-American Drama Association in Chicago, where he directed and designed five plays, including Chunhyangjeon and The Wedding Day. Kim has published his popular Zodiac pictures in Korean media such as Korean Daily and KBC-TV every New Year’s Day since 1987.
