Harold Washington Library Center hosts a Hispanic Heritage Month art exhibit featuring the work of local artist Elio Leturia.
Pieces from Leturia's exhibit CROSS | CRUCE will be on display on the 3rd floor from September 15 through October 15.
Artist Statement
My artwork attempts to communicate a variety of topics that go from social, cultural to even political issues. I start with an idea and the media responds to the content of that idea. It can be photography, illustration, typography or a combination of all those. It can use collage, paint, color pencils, gouache or be completely rendered digitally.
The subject matter of each piece determines the materials and techniques used to be produced. I always approach each project with a sense of humor and a spirit of adventure. As a writer turned designer turned photographer turned videographer, each project always starts as a challenge, in English or in Español.
