Roosevelt Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit through the month of May featuring artist Hyo-Wha Park.
Hyo-Wha Park (裕堂) is a Korean artist who has exhibited in Korea and the United States. She studied sculpture at the Ewha Woman’s University in Korea and immigrated to Chicago, where she started Korean painting under Gun-Seo Park, who is a founder of Mook Mee (墨美 literal translation: beauty of black ink) Artist Association. Hyo-Wha Park’s paintings dazzle with unique views on nature and the energy of the life. She was a featured artist at the Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month in 2012 and 2014 and has shown at the Chicago Botanic Garden.
