West Chicago Avenue Branch hosts a Polish American Heritage Month art exhibit featuring artist Joanna Partyka from October 1 through November 1.
Artist Statement
"Life is full of surprises.
"I received my master's in literature from Jagiellonian University, Poland. I then worked in the film business in London for a few years. After moving to the United States, I started to paint and draw, and I cannot stop.
"My art journey is full of adventures, discoveries and 'eureka' moments. There are also some frustrations and drawbacks. But I must admit that every time I hold a brush in my hand, I feel like I have found my own paradise.
