The Wrightwood-Ashburn Branch hosts a Polish American Heritage Month art exhibit in October featuring artist John Zajac.
Zajac is a self-taught visual artist and furniture maker. His journey into art began from a love of woodworking and has progressed into multiple mediums. Regardless of the form or canvas, seeking a higher understanding of the human condition and life itself influences every paint stroke, saw cut or pencil mark of his work, becoming a channel for spiritual expression.
Artist Statement
My passion is to create work that reflects the human spirit, highlighting its complexity, triumphs and struggles. I believe these emotions can hold infinite possibilities to inspire work that is both meaningful and thought-provoking. My intention is not to create another "wall hanging" or "decoration," but to create work that suspends without the nail.
