Logan Square Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit through the month of May.
Julia Von De Bur’s work with comics, illustration, writing and drawing explores the cultural act of storytelling, incorporating poetry, narrative and drawing on fantastical and dream imagery as well as the everyday. Through pencils, ink, watercolors, collage, and various media, Von De Bur tells stories with broad emotional resonance, dealing with psychological subject matter in both literal and symbolic terms.
Von De Bur is a visual artist and cartoonist from San Jose, California living in Chicago. She recently earned her bachelor of fine arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
