Albany Park Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit through the month of May featuring artist Kyung Ja Kim.
Kyung Ja Kim was born in Seoul, Korea. She got into paper arts as therapy for post surgery and depression decades ago. Kim makes cards, albums, scrapbooks, even 3D arts using various paper including napkin and Asian traditional papers. She uses regular school supplies such as glue sticks, a ruler, scissors and scotch tape to create her art works. Through her art, Kim found unexpected joy and good health and started to share her joy with others by doing exhibitions and workshops in universities, community centers, and media halls throughout Chicago.
