Brainerd Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit during May 2018 featuring artist Lydia Fu.
Lydia Fu is a local interdisciplinary artist who works as an illustrator and animator in Chicago. Her personal practice combines a love of old and new media and usually focuses on concepts of identity and how that shapes our world and our relationships to each other. She has been published and screened locally and internationally. Recently her short animated film Permute screened at Millennium Park’s Summer Film Series and she is currently curating a show with FAAIM (the Foundation for Asian American Independent Media) for their annual Asian American Showcase held at the Gene Siskel Film Center in downtown Chicago.
