Be a part of the audience to support our children and young adults as they participate in an African American History Month speech competition at the Austin Branch.
The competition takes place:
- 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 8
- 9:30 a.m. Saturday, February 15
- 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, February19
The contestants are students ages 9 to 16 who attend schools in the Austin community. The contest is organized by Austin community activist Yvonne Hammonds, and it's supported by local banks and political officials.
Come by to listen to their speeches; the students will appreciate your support!
