On Monday, June 9, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., Daley College is at the Maker Lab talking about the Advanced Manufacturing Program, where you can earn certifications and degrees using state-of-the-art computers and equipment. Get your questions answered so you can start making big plans. The City Colleges of Chicago serves students from all backgrounds, from those still in high school to those seeking a career change.
On Tuesday, June 17, from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., join us for a conversation about Opportunities for Women in Advanced Manufacturing at the Arturo Velasquez Institute, a City Colleges of Chicago satellite located at 2800 S. Western Avenue. Hear from Mary Jo Lackey, Engineer, Manager of Manufacturing Systems at JMC Steel Group, and Tamzen Chapmen, Manager of Maintenance Operations at the United States Postal Service. You can catch a ride with us from HWLC, or meet us there. There is plenty of room on the bus for you and a friend!
We're also really excited to have friend of the lab Elizabeth Koprucki on hand from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.Wednesday, June 11 to complete the ShapeOko 2 Assembly. Koprucki, of Pumping Station: One and the Ancona School, will answer questions as she guides the Maker Lab in piecing together our new milling machine. Bring your questions and cameras, and learn about open hardware first-hand.
