Almost a hundred players from throughout the Chicago area participated in the 23rd annual Latino Chess Tournament at Lozano Branch on November 23.
The tournament features two divisions—one for adults and teens and one for children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Lozano Branch manager Hector Hernandez was awarded the Natalie W. Broughton Lifetime Achievement in Chess Award for his dedication to hosting this tournament in the Pilsen community.
