The Clear-Ridge Historical Society is a local historical society covering the neighborhoods of Clearing and Garfield Ridge.
Started in 2011, the Clear-Ridge Historical Society holds programs at Clearing Branch related to local history, including talks and slideshows about Midway Airport, The Chicago Portage, Route 66 and other related topics. These programs are free and open to the public. The society also houses its local history files at the branch, hosts tours of the neighborhood and has reprinted several local history books.
