We're participating in the 85th annual Bud Billiken Parade, the second largest and longest continuous education parade in the United States.
On Saturday, August 8, members of our African American Services Committee and other CPL staff will join Chicago residents and neighborhood groups along the two-mile parade route on Dr. Martin Luther King Boulevard to cheer, encourage and herald the importance of education and returning to school for children.
Since 1929, the Bud Billiken Parade, the oldest back-to-school parade, has highlighted the significance of education by encouraging kids to read and study, and by supporting parents, teachers and schools.
Show your support for CPL, the parade and education by attending the event. Be sure to look for us!
