We are pleased to announce exciting and engaging cultural events taking place in our libraries as part of Culture in My Neighborhood, a collaboration between the Department of Cultural and Special Events and the Chicago Park District. Launched in 2022, this initiative is part of the City of Chicago Arts 77 recovery and reopening plan.
This year in addition to cultural events, we are also celebrating our 150th anniversary, culminating with a citywide birthday party at every CPL location on Saturday, June 10.
Culture in My Neighborhood events highlight the myriad of cultures that make Chicago our home, from Rogers Park to Hegewisch and everywhere in between.
Events are for all ages and this year include drag queen Chicago story times, walking tours at our historic libraries, workshops celebrating public art and more. Join these events to celebrate the library, our city and people who make Chicago a cultural destination and home.
Join us for one of these special CPL events and visit chicagoparkdistrict.com and chicago.gov to find more activities near you.
