Do You Have Eagle Eyes?

News Literacy Summer Learning Challenge

Eagles eat fish when they live near the water and meat when they live far from the water. Their front facing eyes give them the sharp vision that helps them spot prey from far away. Eagles can also fly fast. Besides their good eyesight and speed, what adaptations help eagles to catch and eat their prey?

Focus Questions

  1. What do eagles use to cling on their prey?
  2. What do eagles use to bite their meat?
  3. How many different types of eagles are there? What do you know about bald eagles?
