Clearing Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit throughout May featuring the work of artist Minjoo Kim.
Kim’s artworks embody moment and emotion through everyday experience, unnoticed things around us. Kim is interested in exploring ordinary objects that have left story behind, revealing their forgotten value and connecting them with emotions. She has exhibited her artworks in public exhibitions including the Uptown Asian Pacific Heritage Month Art Walk in Chicago and ARTrageous Vegas 2014 to share her creative expression.
Kim was born and raised in Masan, South Korea. She moved to Chicago in 2006 to study visual communication design at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
