Rogers Park and West Ridge: A History of Neighbors in Service is on display on the 2nd floor of Sulzer Regional Library from March 3 to June 28.
The exhibit features fliers, newsletters, brochures, reports and more from the Rogers Park/West Ridge Community Collection, which recently opened to researchers at the Northside Neighborhood History Collection at Sulzer Regional Library. The exhibit celebrates and explores the different ways people have built community in Rogers Park and West Ridge over the years. Some of the stories it highlights include the work of the Rogers Park Woman’s Club and North Town Woman’s Club, the efforts of local block clubs, the evolving ethnic diversity of the neighborhoods and the unique histories of local parks.
The exhibit was created in collaboration with the Rogers Park/West Ridge Historical Society, who curated the collection from which the exhibit is drawn for many decades before donating it to the NNHC.
