What would you do if you were the first person to land on another planet? How would introduce yourself to a space creature? Let us know what your first contact would be like:
- Read about our solar system and the universe. We have some great books to get your started on our Explore and Soar booklist for 6- to 8-year-olds and booklist for 9- to 13-year-olds. Make a list of your favorite facts or write your own space story inspired by a science fiction story.
- Discover more about the planets by visiting Adler Planetarium or the Museum of Science and Industry. How are the planets similar and different? Observe the moon for a week and describe how it changes each night.
- Create a story or comic about meeting an alien or being the first person to land on a planet. Write a poem inspired by space.
Complete the form below by Monday, July 13. This contest is open to all school-age learners ages 5-13. Selected participants will receive a bag full of books and will be announced here in August.
