Edgewater Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit through the month of May, featuring artists Ah-Young Park, Nak-Ju Sung, Cheong-Kee Lee, Jung-Sook Lee, Kyoung-Suk Cho, Sujin Lee, Young-Sook Choi, Mae-Ja Kwon, Nam-Joong Kim, Young-un Song, Young-sook Choi and Jae Lee.
A wide variety of painters and mixed media artists will have a group showing at Edgewater Branch, showcasing the range of visions currently produced by artists of Korean descent. The vibrant pastoral works of Ah-Young Park almost have an impressionist quality, which contrasts sharply with fellow exhibitor Nak-Ju Sung’s digitized, abstract motifs.
This showing deftly explores Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month’s theme of innovation.
