The Lincoln Park Branch is a collection site for the City of Chicago’s annual holiday food drive benefiting the Greater Chicago Food Depository as part of the 1 City, 1 Food Drive campaign. The goal is to collect 30,000 pounds of food for those in need.
Food donations may be brought to the branch through Monday, December 16. A large collection barrel has been placed near the branch’s front door. Food items that are most needed include rice, pasta, canned beans, canned vegetables, canned fruit, cereal, peanut butter, canned tuna and canned chili. Paper grocery bags are available at the branch; please take one the next time you visit the library, and bring it back filled with non-perishable items.
