Celebrating jazz, Woodson Regional hosts a weekend of three concerts.
- Jazz Links Youth Ensemble, August 16 at 12 p.m. Sponsored by the Jazz Institute of Chicago, the Jazz Links Youth Ensemble, under the direction of Mark Coulter, Madeline Molinedo, and Carlos Ayento, performs contemporary tunes in the Woodson Garden.
- Willie Pickens, August 16 at 1-3 p.m.This Chicago Jazz Festival preview concert features piano powerhouse Willie Pickens with Next Gen bassist Katie Ernst and longtime Pickens collaborator on drums Robert Shy.
- Steve Palmore, August 17 at 2:30 p.m. Originally from Chicago, acoustic bass impresario Steve Palmore, who has performed with the likes of Stevie Wonder and Hannibal Marvin Peterson, brings his special talents to our stage.
