Looking for something to do with the kids this weekend? Bring them to the Chicago Southside Mini Maker Faire. The free event is 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, August 6 at Ford City Mall, 7601 S. Cicero Avenue.
The Maker Lab and YOUmedia will be there alongside makers from all over the city showcasing their work and offering opportunities for hands-on learning for all ages. Adults and kids, come play with "squishy circuits," create a phone app that controls robots, help assemble 3D printed hands, create a FrankenToy, dabble with woodworking and more.
The Mini Maker Faire is a fun and energetic community-based event that brings together science, art, crafts and engineering. This celebration showcases Chicago-area makers with a focus on the diversity of people and thought that makes Chicago an innovative city of deeds.
