Laser Cutters
The laser cutters have been on vacation this week until we receive our replacement laser tubes. According to Full Spectrum Laser, the 40w laser tubes output between 1,000 and 1,500 hours of etching and vectoring, which sounds about right when you remember we opened in July. We’ll do our best to have the replacements installed as soon as we receive them, but if the lasers are not ready for the next laser-cutting class, we’ll offer a substitute class in its place. As always, thanks for your patience. And if you were trying to cut bamboo and couldn’t, now we know why!
Pop-Ups
We had our second pop-up card class today; thanks to everyone who braved the arctic weather to get creative with us. As you can see, we picked up some bright, popping colors that suggest spring isn’t terribly far away. If you’re interested in really getting into pop-ups, we came across this treasure trove of links on Squidoo, which covers pop-ups from simple to amazing. We discovered there are many talented artists out there both sharing and selling their delightful work.
Eventbrite
We’re often asked if we have a wait list for workshops. We’ve decided not to create a wait list because of the low frequency of cancellations. After talking with many of you, we learned that canceling a ticket on Eventbrite was unclear, so we found the Eventbrite help page that shows how to cancel your ticket, whether or not you have an account. We hope this clears up the confusion and reduces the need for a wait list. While we don’t recommend making a special trip to the Loop in case there’s an empty spot, if you’re already in the neighborhood, do stop by. We are happy to accept walk-ins if there’s an empty seat.
