Chicago kids, make your voice heard! While you might need to be 18 years old to vote on Election Day in America, everyone can think about how they want to change the world. Until the end of November, stop by the children’s area of your library to pick up a “ballot” activity sheet where you can share an idea that you think would help your community.
November 4th is election day this year, and voting in an election is one way that we can express our opinions and beliefs about what is important in our world. America is a democracy, which means that every person should have an equal say in deciding things like who the President is or what laws pass. When we vote for a person or an idea, we are saying that we think they can help make our world look more like the world we want to live in.
When you pick up your activity sheet, don’t forget to tear off the bottom of your “ballot” with your idea and return it to the ballot box at your library by November 30th! Please include your name, age and a parent’s email to be entered to win a prize.
