Money Smart Week Programs at Lincoln Park Branch

The Lincoln Park Branch will host two programs for Money Smart Week, April 5-12:

Building a Strong Financial Future: Strategies from Midlife to Retirement will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 8. Presenter Jeffrey Johnson of LPL Financial Group, L.L.C. (a Money Smart partner) will discuss retirement planning needs for workers from midlife to retirement age. Topics including asset allocation strategies, handling potential challenges to building retirement savings, estate planning considerations and new tax rules will be covered.

First-Time Home Buyers Workshop will take place from from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 12. In this workshop, presenter Kelly Malitz of Cole Taylor Mortgage (a division of Cole Taylor Bank, a Money Smart partner) will introduce potential first-time home buyers to some of the key financial concepts they will encounter along the way. Topics including an affordability analysis, the pre-approval process, an explanation of loan products and a summarization of costs will be discussed.
