Austin-Irving Branch hosts an Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month art exhibit through the month of May featuring artist Stella Zee.
Stella Zee discusses her artwork: “Light and color, the mystery of the universe, set the mood for how we relate to the world. The exploration of light and space leads me to the sanctuaries of nature. It is the animals who come to me in my dreams and offer healing.”
As a child, Zee moved from China to Hong Kong and from Hong Kong to Brazil. She came to the United States to attend college and studied art in Chicago. Her travels around the world and personal history influenced her paintings, which use light-infused colors contrasted with deeper, richer tone-infused colors.
