From May 1 - 30, Really Tiny Houses made during the 2015 - 2016 One Book, One Chicago season will be on display on the 8th Floor of Harold Washington Library Center Flat and Upright Exhibit Cases. See the winners of the competition as well as entries from patrons and partners from around the city.
Really Tiny Houses were made in the CPL Maker Lab throughout the season, and patrons had the opportunity to learn skills on all of the machines in the Maker Lab and create a house, chair, table, wallpaper and more, culminating in a complete "really tiny house" if they completed all classes. Many patrons also took their skills and creativity to the next level, fabricating their creations in new ways beyond the class. The result was a wonderful "Block Party" of Really Tiny Houses celebrating the architecture of Thomas Dyja's book The Third Coast.
Even though this season is over, CPL Maker Lab classes are still available online for anyone who wishes to create their own Tiny House during Open Shop Hours.
