In case you haven't heard, the Maker Lab received a generous gift from the Motorola Mobility Foundation. Free workshops, visiting makerspaces, craft classes from local artists, and open shop mingling are here to stay! As always, you can find our classes through the Event Calendar by clicking on Innovation Lab under Programs. You'll register on Eventbrite, and remember, if you can't make it, please try to cancel your ticket.
Upcoming and new classes include:
- Wedding Decals with Mariella on Thursday, May 1
- Multi Strand Necklace with Natalie Gallegos on Saturday, May 3
- Creature Collage with Annie Chu on Monday, May 5
- Felt Flag Bunting with Melissa on Saturday, May 10
There will be no Open Shop on Wednesday, May 7, because all Chicago Public Library locations are closed. We look forward to seeing you Friday and Saturday as usual. In other maker news:
- The Maker Lab will have a table at the Chicago Northside Mini Maker Faire on Saturday, May 3, from 10-4pm.
- If you're out of Chicago for the summer, you can probably still find a Maker Faire near you.
- Martha Stewart is in to 3D printing and has a great introduction for any newcomers.
- Tickets are still available for C2E2, this weekend.
- The 2014 Printers Ball website is now up.
