Experience the vision of Turtel Onli in his exhibit on display January 9 through February 27 in the 8th floor north exhibit cases at the Harold Washington Library Center.
View work from Onli's Chicago-based journey from illustrator to advocate to indie publisher of graphic novels and zines. Since the 1970s the entrepreneurial artist has explored and promoted creativity, culture and commerce through fine art, comics and education. Onli is an adjunct professor in art appreciation and studio drawing at Harold Washington College and recently retired from Chicago Public Schools, where he was an arts educator.
Dr. Auburn Ellis will join Onli in a presentation on Bringing Graphic Novels to the Classroom at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 24 in the Chicago Authors Room on the 7th floor of the Harold Washington Library Center.
