Crossing the Persian Gates: Mixed Media Works by Sarvin Haghighi is on display through August 12 at Harold Washington Library Center in the 8th floor exhibit cases.
This is a visual representation of cultural exchange. Sarvin Haghighi presents her work to purposefully encourage conversations about her culture and to share stories of the land she was born in.
Since her move to the United States in 2013, Sarvin has used her art to share her culture with the rest of the world. As a woman born in Iran who has chosen to call Chicago home, Sarvin uses elements in her works that speak to her hybrid reality. Sarvin's work is grounded in traditional Iranian customs, yet bears a distinct overlay of our modern world.
