Do you love supporting local writers and independent book publishers? Check out the Chicago Book Expo from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, November 13 at Columbia College, 1104 S. Wabash Avenue.
This free event brings together writers, readers and publishers to celebrate small presses and the books that they offer.
In addition to exhibits and book signings, you can take part in literary sessions featuring local greats Jim DeRogatis, Dominic Pacyga, Pamela Sherrod Anderson and Toni Nealie, as well as other local authors and writers. With conversations ranging from Roger Ebert’s legacy to protest poetry and encouraging diversity in publishing, there’s something for everyone.
For writers, the expo offers a chance to break writer’s block (or shape up a NaNoWriMo text) with a special 1 p.m. “Rut Bust” session presented by the Chicago Publishers Resource Center.
