Symphony’s Beauties, a Women’s History Month exhibit by teen artist Assata Mason, is on display in March at Harold Washington Library Center, in the 8th floor display cases.
Mason says, “my work was created to promote the empowerment of women and to show the world how amazing we really are. I strive to present many stunning historical female musicians who have made an enormous impact on society. I tried to master these portraits by using various mediums to hopefully capture their beauty as amazing individuals.”
A native of Chicago, Mason hopes to attend the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her artwork has also been displayed in YOUmedia at Harold Washington Library Center.
